Film Reframed empowers forward-thinking filmmakers of every genus
with a deep understanding of visual storytelling
so they can go out and make beautiful, affecting movies.

Without the pretense of a traditional institution, we’re able to cover cutting-edge subject matter at the height of its relevance
with the freedom to explore new frontiers and explain core principles with a fresh perspective.

We have a dedication to providing high-level instruction at an accessible rate,
and maintaining a community where everyone is respected and celebrated.

We know traditional film programs teach with a “canon” of films that paint a homogenous picture of Hollywood.
They’re stuck in a curriculum that over-represents straight, white men
and overlooks the work of women and filmmakers of color.
Here at Film Reframed, we’ve taken care to develop an inclusive curriculum
with a fresh, nuanced idea of the great masters of film history.

Don’t worry, we didn’t throw away Spielberg and Capra and Hitchcock and PTA,
but we’re committed to bringing you a film education that teaches you about Nichols and May.

Put simply, we’re a diverse, global community
and we want filmmakers of all genders, races and identities
to be taught by filmmakers of all genders, races and identities.

Reimagine masterful filmmakers.
Refocus masterful filmmaking.
Rethink film school.
